The house is situated in a large, mature garden. A staircase from the garden leads to the sunny and secluded private balcony with a view over the garden. There is a glazed door to the kitchen/dining room which comes fully equipped with a fridge-freezer, electric kettle, coffee filter machine, dishwasher, microwave and electric cooker.
On the same floor as the kitchen/dining room is a small sitting room with a TV/DVD player and a UK Freesat receiver. It also houses a small library of holiday reads and books about the local area. On this floor there is also the bathroom with walk-in shower, washbasin and W.C.
Stairs from the kitchen/dining room lead to the first floor with two double bedrooms (one with double bed and one with twin beds) and a WC/washroom.
The house has central heating radiators on the ground floor, making this a very cosy place for winter breaks as well as summer holidays. Outdoor furniture and BBQ are provided for the balcony and in the garden. Laundry facilities are provided in an exterior utility room.
We welcome children and if required we can provide a cot, a high chair and a safety gate for the stairs.
The Garden & Swimming Pool
The whole property is set in sunny, south facing gardens of about a hectare, leading down to the edge of the river Argent-Double which runs from the mountains behind into Caunes-Minervois. In the garden, there are mature shrubs and trees and many plants of interest as well as herbs for cooking. Guests are most welcome to use the whole space and there is lots of room for children to play and for guests of all ages to relax in sun or shade. This is not a manicured garden, we leave many areas unmown to encourage birds and wildlife, native orchids and other wild flowers have self seeded in the garden.
There is also a five by eleven metre swimming pool, depth 1m10 to 1m 80, which is for the use of guests in les Cyprès and ourselves. We like to swim but, in practice, guests have sole use of the pool. The pool is normally in use from late May until early October. The pool is fitted with a sliding safety cover which conforms to NF. P 90-308. There are deck chairs, loungers and a sunshade
Car parking is off road, on the verge.
